I Once Met a Demon

I once met a demon in the form of a friend.
One of those friendships I thought would never end.
It introduced me to a new world,
New life.
Things I thought were right,
Were wrong,
I didn’t fight.
It had been here before,
This green earth with brown dirt.
It saw an innocent soul,
And decided to flirt.
Closer to the gates of Hell was its playground.
I looked in its eyes,
Persuasive,
I thought I’d stay a while.
It opened the gates.
Its friends came too.
Invisible scratches, bumps, and bruises,
Their type of play was new.
It’s friends still dwell in the depths of my mind.
How do I know?
I once met a demon in the form of a friend.
With a blink of my eye,
I never saw it again. ©
