Watching the NBA playoffs/finals over the past several years, I’ve noticed a trend for Russell Westbrook. He’s always gone to the playoffs and lost. Although averaging a triple-double, and breaking Oscar Robertson’s single season triple-double record last season, he still hasn’t been far in the playoffs. Going back to when the Oklahoma City Thunder had Kevin Durant and James Harden, they played the Miami Heat with the Big 3, Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh in the 2012 finals and lost. Which was the first time the Thunder have appeared in the finals since 1996 when they were called the Seattle SuperSonics. This 2019 playoff series against the Portland Trail Blazers almost got out of hand when the series could’ve been a four game sweep, but the Thunder won the third game. The Trail Blazers still hold the lead in the series, 3-1. The next game will be played Tuesday, April 23rd.
Loyalty is a huge deal to Westbrook and we saw that when he stayed with the Thunder and Durant left. If the team loses another playoff run, will Westbrook pack his bags and leave OKC? Let me know!
