The Golden No. 1

Now, we all know the Golden State Warriors are a superhero team STACKED with NBA superstars. Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and DeMarcus Cousins were their starting five to end their regular season. The Warriors won their last game against the LA Clippers, blowing them out 131-104, but what made this game so special?

For over 40 years in Oakland, The Golden State Warriors called Oracle Arena their home, which will no longer be their home starting in September. Just before the game started, many social media platforms posted the Warriors’ game uniforms which spoiled the surprise (if it was a surprise), but added more meaning to the game. The 2007, “We Believe” playoff uniforms were worn from the No. 8 seed Warriors that defeated the No. 1 seed, Dallas Mavericks. The excitement from the uniforms gave Oracle Arena one last roar from the crowd to welcome the Warriors. According to, the 2007 Warriors team was the first team in NBA history to be the No. 8 seed and defeat a No. 1 seed team.

After blowing out the LA Clippers 131-104, Warriors coach Steve Kerr, gave a speech to the Oakland crowd and ending his speech with revealing a banner that read, “Oakland, California 47 seasons”. That banner will hang in their new arena, the Chase Center in San Francisco just about 30 minutes away. What a finish to a great regular season, clinching the No. 1 seed in the NBA.

Well, the Warriors are going to win the championship again. Joking! It just seems like history may repeat itself with all the success from the past and present. Also, just look at the overall talent they have on the team, but wait! LeBron James isn’t in the playoffs anymore! OH HAPPY DAY! Don’t get me wrong, I like to see James win. Who doesn’t? Everytime you watch him play, that game could be in the history books. With all the love James has has around the world, he has the same amount of hate too. I’m pretty sure you have at least one friend that can’t stand James and I bet they’ve been jumping up and down since they’ve heard about the Lakers not making it into the playoffs. This also means another team has a chance to shine. My favorite team this year to win it all is the Milwaukee Bucks even though I’m a Philadelphia 76ers by default because I’m a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. I just HATED the way the 76ers played against the Bucks. What team do you like? Let me know in the comment section!
